Is a Natural Gas BBQ Line Worth It in Guelph?
Short answer: if you grill more than a dozen times a summer and you're staying in the house three years, yes.

The math
A standard BBQ line from an accessible basement tie-in runs $450–$900 installed in Guelph. A 20 lb propane exchange is roughly $30 and lasts a heavy griller 6–10 sessions; natural gas delivers the same heat for a small fraction of that per BTU. Most households that grill weekly recover the line cost in two to three seasons, and never make another tank run.
The question to ask first
Not every grill converts. Check the model for a manufacturer natural gas conversion kit before you buy — or buy a natural gas model outright. Some entry-level propane grills can't be converted safely and we won't connect them.
What the install looks like
A line off the main near your meter or furnace, out through the rim joist, to a shut-off and quick-connect at the deck. Half a day. If you're planning a patio heater or outdoor kitchen later, say so now — we'll size the line for the combined load so you don't pay twice.
Safety
Gas line work in Ontario must be done by a technician certified under the TSSA. A quick-connect lets you unhook the grill for winter; leave the shut-off closed when it's disconnected. And every home with a fuel-burning appliance needs a CO alarm near sleeping areas — it's the law.
